The Tooth Werewolf and a Nerd Mom's Transformation

In the world of nerd parenting, passing down strange, wonderful, and hilariously weird traditions is basically a rite of passage. And what's nerdier (or better) than turning a childhood story into an actual werewolf transformation?

In this video, I decided to paint my face into a werewolf masterpiece while reminiscing about one of the most ridiculous AND genius things my dad ever did: creating the legend of the Tooth Werewolf.

Yes, you read that right. While other kids got visits from the Tooth Fairy, I was introduced to a far more supernatural figure - the Tooth Werewolf. Instead of dainty magic, I grew imagining a shaggy, moonlit beast who collected lost teeth, and, on at least one occasion, actually sent her a check. Because apparently, even werewolves understand the importance of monetary compensation for baby teeth.

This quirky invention not only added some supernatural element to my childhood but also cemented my lifelong love of fantasy, storytelling, and monsters.
